![]() & air quality monitoring Walking for a cleaner, greener Hertfordshire Air pollution is one of the biggest health risks facing everyone in the UK and Hertfordshire County Council is aiming for cleaner air for everyone by 2030. Hertfordshire Health Walks volunteers recently helped the Hertfordshire Sustainability Team by carrying an air quality monitor on a number of walks. You can find out more about what they did by clicking the green button on the left to watch a short video on YouTube. During National Walking Month, why not do your bit to improve air quality and personal fitness by walking short distances that you would usually drive? If you would like to know more up to date information about air quality or to receive local pollution alerts, you can sign up and join the ‘Let’s clear the air’ campaign. You’ll find out how air quality is measured, how to reduce air pollution in your area, and what is being done across Hertfordshire. To view the commitments and strategy for a cleaner, greener, more environmentally sustainable county, visit our website at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/Sustainable Hertfordshire |
Final thought Featured in our last newsletter was the walk planned to see the bluebells that took place at Stream Woods in Hatfield. There was a great turnout with people coming from surrounding areas. Everybody was delighted with the weather and the bluebells were just coming out beautifully. Thanks to Marian, Sue, Tony and Teresa who led the walk, and for everyone who turned up to make it so enjoyable. ![]() |
