The Hertfordshire (Temporary Closing of the footbridge situated above A5183 Dunstable Road, Markyate) order 2020
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footbridge situated above A5183 Dunstable Road, Markyate from its junction with Harps Hill south eastwards, south westwards, south eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Hicks Road (“the Footbridge”), a distance of approximately 90 metres.
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north side of A5183 Dunstable Road and the footway situated on the south side of A5183 Dunstable Road.
The Order is needed because waterproofing and painting the footbridge is proposed to be executed on the Footbridge.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 5 October 2020 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footbridge.
A copy of the proposed Order may be inspected free of charge at County Hall, Hertford between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm (excluding weekends, bank and public holidays).
